Peer Learning Group on Gender Equality

The United Nations Global Compact Network Lebanon, with the support of The Coral Oil Company Limited and with the collaboration of i engineering SAL, is pleased to invite you to participate in the upcoming Peer Learning Group on Gender Equality, taking place from 1 to 3 October 2025. The final in-person consultation will be hosted at Beirut Digital District (BDD) – Venue 1280. Event logistics will be supported by KristiesLab.

This high-level series will convene leaders from business, government, civil society, and academia to explore how workplaces in Lebanon can move beyond traditional gender efforts toward inclusive, gender-responsive systems and cultures. It is designed to connect strategy with implementation, align with global frameworks, and contribute directly to national policy recommendations.

Over the course of three days, the programme will combine two online workshops with a final in-person multi-stakeholder roundtable on Day 3, offering participants the tools, peer insights, and practical frameworks needed to accelerate meaningful progress on gender equality in Lebanon.

Lebanese Industry for a Sustainable Future

Global trade conditions are evolving in ways that increasingly integrate sustainability-related considerations into market access. Regulatory measures, buyer-driven requirements, certification systems and financial risk assessments are progressively shaping the conditions under which goods are traded. Carbon-related trade instruments, emerging packaging and circularity standards, and growing documentation expectations are not uniform across markets; however, they share a common feature. They require credible, verifiable evidence.

For export-oriented economies such as Lebanon, these developments intersect with industrial competitiveness, cost structures, and access to finance. Companies operating across regulated and buyer-driven markets are required to navigate overlapping frameworks while maintaining commercial viability. This dialogue is convened in recognition of the need for clarity, proportionality and strategic coherence in responding to these shifts
